EMERGENCY CONTACTS

Calspeed's Original List is no longer available on the web

From time-to-time everybody has problems on the road.  That is no different for our roadsters.  The people listed below have offered to help in such an emergency.  Heck, you might let them know you are going to be in the area and just stop to say hi.

Here is a list of suggested parts and tools to take with you
(Stolen directly from Calspeed's original list)

Datsun Roadster Parts List

The following items should be in your car at all times.

Fire Extinguisher

Motor Oil (2qts.)
Duct Tape
Water/Coolant (1gal)
Rags & Hand Cleaner
Fan belt
Spare Tire, filled
Jack, Scissor or Hydraulic

Tools / 8mm to 14mm wrenches, adjustable wrench, standard and phillips screwdrivers, pliers, etc.

For a road trip it is suggested that you carry the following items with you.

Spark Plugs
Fuel Line / 6ft. of 1/4 inch
Electric Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter
Jumper Cables
Fix-a-Flat
Carb floats, SU Type
Pocket Knife, Multi-function
Test Light, Electrical
Wire / 14 gauge
Electrical Tape
Brake Fluid, Dot 4
Distributor Cap, Contact Points, Rotor, Condenser
Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses
Feeler Gauge (for valves and ignition)
Transmission Fluid (90w) w/pump
Hose Clamps, few different sizes.
Fuel Can, 2 gallons / plastic
Throttle Return Spring (Important for SU carbs!!)
Sunscreen
Band Aids
Hand Cleaner
Drinking Water
Cellular Phone and a copy of this list for contact info along your route

You can usually pack all of the small items in a plastic tackle or lunch box. The larger items can be put in a strong cloth bag and tucked into the wheels wells. You also have some space underneath the spare tire. But before you head out make sure you do a maintenance and safety check.

Be sure to include lug nut torque in your safety check.
They tend to loosen over time on alloy wheels.

I don't have great facilities or equipment myself, my wife and her family own a local Nissan dealership and have some great and knowledgeable mechanics working for them.

We have a horse trailer that has effectively moved my own roadster at times.

I've got a pretty complete shop at the house and should be able to handle most anything.  Also, this is the Roadster Ranch SU carb place.

Got cold ones in the fridge and enjoy having roadster folks drop by when they are in town.

I'm only 4 miles off 71 about an hour north of Columbus.

Garage, basic tools, some parts near by. Call in advance & stop in for a meal!

Over the years I've had quite a few roadster folks stop by for a meal or a night. So if your travel plans include crossing Ohio on the turnpike, give me a ring & stop in! Summer weekends I'm likely to be at Nelson Ledges Race track with Sloan Racing, but you are welcome to stop by the track also.

I have a shop--no lift :-( a decent set of tools and a fair amount of spare parts with access to more close to home. I can also come up with sleeping accommodations once the basement is done being refinished.

We live about 25 minutes south of Madison and about an hour west of Milwaukee. Drop in always welcome and the beer is always cold! Give me a call!!
