Driving LightsHere are some pics of my car with driving lights on it. Would you believe that they are from JC Whitney?? They are made by the generic EAGLE brand company. I did some research about Eagle and found out that they actually make lights for KC and one other big name which has escaped me. They just sell a generic version under the Eagle name. For example, here is a set of lights similar to mine from KC for $179.00 (HA!) on the JC site, just in black: I got mine for $18 - $26 Each, then I bought some hotter bulbs as they come with 100watts. JC has the best bulb deals as well. I use to buy PIAA, but found that they burnt out just like any other bulb for 5x the price though. ;-( 130
watt Driving light bulbs from JC I do not see my lights on the JC site at the moment, but they are always in the catalog. I have turned others on to them. Part# in the last catalog I have is: 89au0170n for clear driving lights or 73au6025t for yellow lens fog lights. I have a set of yellow lens, which I would sell. They can be swapped over from the clear ones if you ever want to in different seasons. Sold separately from JC as well for $4.99 each. I got them and decided that I would never swap them, so will offer them to you at cost. To run 2 x 130 watt driving lights and 2 x 90/130 head lights, I upgraded the alternator to the Summit racing 100amp unit for $85.88 in black, though they have one in chrome for $119. I then rewired my entire engine bay harness to ensure all was clean and able to take the power. The one wire alternator was easy to wire and install on my 65 1600. Hope you find this useful. Cheers, |
