:Thomas Thompson SRL311-13913 is my fourth, and only remaining '70 Roadster. It's been a regular at Shasta since 1987, and ran low and fast to it's first Solvang in 2008. I am the third owner, but sat in this very car when new in the showroom in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho in 1970! I have owned it 30 years, but did the majority of my cross-country travels with my wife Nancy in SPL311-28488 and -29222 between 1972 and 1984. I have a number of spares, and can help with many Roadster emergencies--call any time! Terry Light Bought the car in high school (1981}), drove it through college and then parked it (1988) in my garage and forgot about it until September 2008. Working toward a partial or full restoration. Cliff Scott 1969 2000
62,000 orig. miles. found it sitting on the side of a
garage, top down, for 15 years. he was the 2nd owner. very straight body, 2 spots of rust the size
of a 1/2 dollar near the rocker panels. We took it to "Al" our mechanic. He worked on it for about 6
hrs, flushing the engine out. Got a call from Al, he couldn't believe it fired right up,
let alone how well it ran. we were driving downtown last year & there happened to be the Hot summer nights car show going on, one of the guys
waved us over & said " hey man, you've got to enter that car" we did and
took 2nd place. Nice!
Alan Watt 1967 SPL311 White, black interior, rust free and
straight. Could use some engine work, but runs and drive okay. Approximately
77,000 miles. I am always looking for advice from roadster experts on my
driving restoration project. |
